At Kate's Korner, that means that not only will our expert infant teachers be happy so snuggle, play, and sing the day away with your baby, but they also understand why each of these experiences is so good for your baby's development, and then some. We know that helping your baby form secure attachments through responsive caregiving is foundational for healthy relationships in the future, so we make trusting, nurturing relationships our first priority. We know that your baby's sweet coos and babbles are really their first attempts at language, so we know how important it is to listen carefully - and to talk back! We also know how much your baby learns through the use of each of their senses, so our curriculum for infants is play-based, emergent and developmentally appropriate - fancy ways for saying we pay attention to what your baby is interested in and what skills they're working on, and provide lots of fun ways for them to practice
Infants are magical, in more ways than one. Aside from the absolute wonder and delight that brand-new humans bring to the world, infancy is also a remarkable and awe-inspiring stage of human development. More brain development occurs in a child's first three years than at any other time, and a tremendous amount of that occurs within a baby's first year.

As we enter toddlerhood, life really starts to get exciting! Toddlers are discovering that they are powerful and can make things happen, and there's never a dull moment!
As we enter toddlerhood, life really starts to get exciting! Toddlers are discovering that they are powerful and can make things happen, and there's never a dull moment! Our teachers are ready for the thrills (and spills!) that come with this stage of development, and are ready to keep little hands and minds busy with lots of opportunities to explore cause and effect, become immersed in sensory play, or enjoy a great story and a snuggle. Every experience is a learning experience for our toddlers, so we use positive behavior strategies help children learn how to interact with one another and share classroom space in positive ways. Toddlers are dynamic learners, so our teachers are sure to keep the day balanced between plenty of open-ended, child led experiences as well as teacher-led invitations to play, sing, read, do art and play outdoors, all intentionally curated to align with the interests and development of the children in our toddler class.
